We see our employees as our most valuable asset. We are committed to delivering the investment in time and training needed to help each one become the very best they can be.
Individual Plans
In such a large, diverse and forward-looking organisation there are many exciting opportunities for you to develop your career, both now and in the future. To help you make the most of them, we'll work with you to develop your very own personal development and training plan. Your plan will be reviewed regularly to ensure that it reflects your changing development needs. If you are in a clinical role, you'll also have access to a professional mentor, who will be on-hand to offer you expert support and guidance.
Training and Development
We have strong links with the University of East Anglia (UEA), which is great news for those wishing to study Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Psychology. As well as the degree courses themselves, we can offer work placements and opportunities for post-graduate study.
Medical Students
Those studying in this area will benefit from a purpose-built medical school offering a five-year degree programme. Thanks to a unique arrangement that exists between the UEA and certain NHS partners (our Trust being one of them) students will also be able to utilise leading-edge facilities at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital (NNUH).
For junior doctors we offer one of the best Psychiatric Training rotations in the country. Our rotational programme covers all specialities and because of its reputation it attracts more and more applications each year.
Valuing Everyone's Input
We want all our employees to feel good about where they work. It's important that our people feel able to raise issues and know that they will be listened to. We hold regular forums for staff to meet with the Chief Executive to discuss new ideas and review current working practices.
Regular newsletters and team briefings help to keep everyone informed. We also run employee surveys to ensure decision-makers are aware of what people are thinking throughout our organisation and that employees' views are captured and acted upon.
Graduate Training Scheme
Where better to develop and sharpen your skills than with the NHS, Europe’s single largest organisation?
The NHS can offer a huge range of careers to graduates and we are proud to have been nominated for participation in the Graduate Training Scheme.
