The NHS Constitution was first published on 21 January 2009. It was one of a number of recommendations in Lord Darzi’s report ‘High Quality Care for All’ which was published on the 60th anniversary of the NHS and set out a ten-year plan to provide the highest quality of care and service for patients in England.
The NHS Constitution brings together in one place for the first time in the history of the NHS, what staff, patients and public can expect from the NHS |

The Quality Account is a legal requirement. It originates from Lord Darzi's review 'High Quality Care for All'. The aim of Quality Accounts is to ensure that health services have a high level local quality improvement programme that focuses on areas of importance to service users. The Quality Account provides an overview of the quality of services provided and sets quality improvement targets for the coming year. This was the final report of the NHS Next Stage Review, co-produced with the NHS during a year-long process involving more than 2,000 clinicians and 60,000 NHS staff, patients, stakeholders and members of the public
The Quality Account for the Trust will be approved by the commissioning PCTs, Overview and Scrutiny Committees and local LINKs prior to publication in June 2010 as part of the Annual Report. |
